The approved 2019 Capital Budget includes $85,343 for the replacement of three Police vehicles for the Police Department Criminal Investigation Bureau and Traffic Bureau. The proposed replacement vehicles are 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab Pickups. The Fleet Unit of Public Works has inspected the vehicles and has determined they are in need of replacement.  Two of the vehicles will be surplused, and one will be repurposed in the fleet.

Staff is proposing to purchase the vehicles through the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC).  SPC is a joint purchasing program for local communities.  The SPC  represents 143 municipalities in the six County area of Northern Illinois, and is administered through the Northwest Municipal Conference.

Napleton Fleet Group of Oakbrook Terrace, IL is this year's winning bidder for this vehicle.  The Village has worked with Napleton Fleet Group in the past, and found them to be acceptable.

The total cost for the three pursuit vehicles is $74,490 and funds are available for this purchase in Account No. 621-9003-572.50-05 (VH9503).

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Village Board award the bid to Napleton Fleet Group, of Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, in the amount of $74,490 for the purchase of three Dodge Pickup Trucks for the Police Department Criminal Investigation Bureau and Traffic Bureau, and authorize Staff to execute the necessary documents.
