The Police Department has identified a long-standing problem of semi-trucks parking along Clearbrook Drive south of Brook Dr.  Because of the curve, any trucks parked there leave a tight fit for traffic on the street. The trucks are not trucks relating to the businesses in the area. Those businesses have loading docks. We believe these semi-trucks are generally parked there by people looking for a place to park a semi-truck during the day and at night. Police have issued tickets for overnight parking but that has not solved the problem. 

In order to accommodate the needs of the non-industrial use located at 2626 S Clearbrook while also addressing the issue of semi-trucks parking on Clearbrook, Staff is proposing to restrict parking on Clearbrook in two ways. The attached ordinance prohibits parking completely for the portion of Clearbrook at the curve to Brook Drive and prohibts truck parking on the portion of Clearbrook that is directly in front of and across the street from the 2626 building.

Once the signs are posted, Staff will continue to monitor the situation to determine if this has solved the initial parking issue and ensure that it has not created difficulties for other businesses in the area.
